SUBSIDIARIES As at 30 June 2022, the University’s principal subsidiaries were as follows: (i) Bioworld Investment Limited The Company is incorporated in the British Virgin Islands and is limited by shares. Its principal activity is to undertake investment holding. (ii) Centennial College The College is incorporated in Hong Kong and is limited by guarantee. The College is registered as an Approved Post Secondary College under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap.320). It offers full time self-financed, 4-year Bachelor Degree programmes validated by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ). (iii) H.K. Hong Kong Innovation Center Ltd The Company is incorporated in Israel and is limited by shares. Its principal activity is academic collaboration with Israeli Universities and industry and community engagement in Israel. (iv) HKU Innovation Holdings Limited The Company is incorporated in Hong Kong and is limited by guarantee. Its principal activity is to undertake investment holding. (v) HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education The Company is incorporated in Hong Kong and is limited by guarantee. Its principal activities are to provide quality professional and continuing education programmes. (vi) HKU-Shenzhen Institute of Research and Innovation The Institute is an institutional organisation incorporated in The People’s Republic of China. Its principal activities are to carry out research, technology transfer and provide consultancy services on technology development. (vii) HKU SPACE (Beijing) Consulting Services Limited The Company is incorporated in The People’s Republic of China with limited liability. SUBSIDIARIES – Cont’d (viii)HKU SPACE Qianhai Education Consulting Services (Shenzhen) Company Limited The Company is incorporated in The People’s Republic of China with limited liability. Its principal activities are provision of education information consultation, business consulting services, management skills training, brand and corporate planning, business management consulting, education technology research and development, skills consulting, study abroad consulting services, corporate marketing planning, cultural exchange activity planning. (ix) HKU-Zhejiang Institute of Research and Innovation The Institute is an institutional organisation incorporated in The People’s Republic of China. Its principal activities are to carry out research, technology transfer and provide consultancy services on technology development. (x) Poon Kam Kai Institute of Management The Company is incorporated in Hong Kong and is limited by guarantee. Its principal activities are to provide executive education and advisory services. However, the Company had ceased trading in 2013 and has become a dormant company since then. (xi) The University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) Limited The Company is incorporated in Hong Kong and is limited by guarantee. Its principal activity is investment holding. (xii) The University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) Teaching Hospital Limited The Company is incorporated in Hong Kong and is limited by guarantee. Its principal activity is to provide medical and clinical consultancy services. (xiii) The University of Hong Kong Clinical Trials Centre (China) Limited The Company is incorporated in Hong Kong and is limited by shares.
